The Canada Federation Candidate is qualified and will deliver on his trade objectives for Canada because:
Mr. Chamas has over 35 years of experience in international trade, expansion of markets and development of emerging market nations.
Mr. Chamas understands this aspect of government better given his extensive work with nations trying to re-invent their markets and those emerging nations trying to build a new economy that is competitive and sustaining.
Mr. Chamas recognizes our need to expand our trading partners to enlarge our reach economically beyond the US, to grow at a global rate rather than a North American outlook.
Mr. Chamas understands the necessity of a strong Canadian currency that will remain consistent and independent.
Mr. Chamas knows sustainable growth is not possible without balanced trade and protection of our intellectual property.
Trade, the singular issue that makes or brakes our economy. I use the word “brakes” because it can stop the economy from growing and expanding like nothing else. It can affect the strength of our dollar and the strength of our trading power.
Trade in the 21st century is vastly different now than in previous decades. The global reach now has created a new paradigm of marketplace. The global marketplace is now open to everyone with internet. Therefore competitive advantages have shifted. It is speed vs cost; we have seen Amazon implement new delivery methods of next day or same day delivery to your door. They have shifted their marketing and distribution to accommodate the new demands.
As we reflect on global business and their nimble and reactive response to market demands; government must also be able to adjust and react in similar fashion.
Government must encourage entrepreneurial growth and assist in opening markets to new businesses. Trade has become a balance of investing in our own and prospecting in the global market. This blend of objectives can bring Canada to a higher level of global trading partnerships while growing a sustainable economy.
Canada Federation will also support and encourage a financially educated diplomatic corps that can speak with knowledge and understanding in addressing sustainable development and growth. Thereby having the credible means to effectuate change in our international trade agreements.
Mr. Chamas has implemented this in his group of companies including DiploFin, who has worked with numerous emerging nations to develop effective leadership in development and trade.
“We have through years of experience and global knowledge, learned that without a financially educated and proactive diplomatic corps, developing countries have little chance for decent sustainable development and growth in our asymmetric Global World.”
