The Canadian Political Merry-go-Round; Liberals and Conservatives
Corruption, Scandal & Complacency; time to clean-up the Canadian Swamp
As a Canadian Citizen I seek justice for my fellow Canadians. Despite the persecution by governments, I maintain my fight against the governments’ false face. We have witnessed the courage of the former Minister of Justice, Jody Wilson-Raybould, taking a stand against the corruption of high government that tried to prevent criminal charges being laid against a Canadian corporation, SNC-Lavalin. In fact, instead of lauding her courage, the media is now talking about “her failures” during her 3 years at the helm of Justice. Her failures, they note, are: not doing away with victim surcharges, no sentencing reforms, leaving a broken pardon system in place, and no expansion of restorative justice alternatives. By drawing attention to corruption at the highest levels that expose the interference of the Prime Minister into Justice matters, one could argue that the balance of issues facing justice reform pale in comparison and indeed reformation, in the face of such corruption, would not happen.

And now Trudeau faces a deepening scandal with the resignation of Jane Philpott, Treasury board president. Stating that she no longer has confidence in the government’s handling of the SNC Lavalin affair.
We need an accountable government that will lead with conviction and by example. The result, in part, would be the return of the moral authority to the Justice system. In turn, this would place greater expectations upon the legislators, police, and bureaucrats who make, enforce, and defend the rule of law.
However, we are left instead with the same pattern of behavior by the government officials we have elected to serve Canadians. This pattern was repeated in my life when I became a liability to the Canadian government. I had been working for them in matters of finance and foreign information procurement. After delivery of my obligations, I sought my compensation as promised; but instead I received a focused attack upon my family and myself by all agencies at the governments’ disposal. Immigration, police, media, Canada Revenue Agency, and the Canadian Border Agency. Every possible manner of harassment, threats, charges, and intimidation were used against us to renege on my compensation and to get us out of Canada. Seizure of my passport and refusal to renew it prevent me from returning to Canada.
The abridgment of civil rights continues against Canadian citizens. In fact, the new law allowing police to conduct random breath tests without just cause is another example of the erosion of our rights.
What about our protection under the law concerning our property rights; what responsibility does the government show towards our citizens? When it is clearly known to the government that the aged infrastructure is not able to keep storm surges and melting snow flooding at bay. Do they intervene to make the necessary changes to the infrastructure or even to the electrical grid when it fails? How many families have lost everything many times over because the government fails to act?
We need responsible government that will do the hard job required not just kick it down the road for the next government. Aren’t we fed up with their ridiculous cycle? Liberal, Conservative, Liberal, Conservative…. the merry-go-round that never stops or gets us to our hoped-for destination of progress and prosperity. We need to do the hard work of cleaning up our own swamp! I am committed to cleaning up the Canadian Swamp that the 2 parties have created over decades of corruption, scandal and complacency; leaving Canadians frustrated with being marginalized and only courted for their votes and money. I will draw an end to the cycle of corruption and clean up the swamp with like-minded citizens who want to take back Canada.
